NECROPHAGIST was founded in early 1992 to integrate the fury of grinding, fast death metal with progressive music. Shortly after the band formed they entered the studio and recorded their first demo tape entitled 'Requiems of Festered Gore.' 'Requiems of Festered Gore' was never released to the masses as it was sent out solely for promotional reasons in an attempt to help the band secure gigs.

In 1995, NECROPHAGIST re-entered the studio and recorded a self-titled, follow-up demo. The demo’s impact sent shock waves through the European underground death metal scene, which helped NECROPHAGIST not only establish their gruesome name, but allowed the band to play numerous shows all over Europe. Soon NECROPHAGIST was recognized as one of the leading bands in the growing underground progressive/technical death metal scene.

In 1999, NECROPHAGIST recorded their self-released, full-length debut 'Onset of Putrefaction.' Despite the limited number of copies that were made, 'Onset of Putrefaction' only solidified the growing reputation that NECROPHAGIST had started with their self-titled demo. Soon, NECROPHAGIST became the standard for progressive death metal. Uniting influences from different styles, including classical music, 'Onset of Putrefaction' showcased NECROPHAGIST’s demanding dexterity, inhuman brutality and fury.

With 'Onset of Putrefaction' NECROPHAGIST reanimated the brutal death metal genre that many had left for dead. 'Onset of Putrefaction' actually became an influence for hordes of young musicians and fledgling European death metal bands. The overwhelming response to 'Onset of Putrefaction' helped NECROPHAGIST secure highly sought after support slots with such extreme music luminaries as CANNIBAL CORPSE, NAPALM DEATH and SINISTER. This attention further blossomed into NECROPHAGIST’s appearance at numerous festivals, including the Fuck The Commerce in Germany, the legendary Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and the Maryland Deathfest in the United States.

Now in 2004, NECROPHAGIST have signed to Relapse Records and are prepared to unleash the crushing 'Epitaph' on a pitiful and unsuspecting world. Once again NECROPHAGIST have pushed the boundaries of technical and progressive Death Metal to new heights, setting an extreme standard by which others will follow. NECROPHAGIST have quite literally gone where no band has gone before...

MISERY INDEX
(USA – Relapse)

Misery Index, based out of Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, DC, USA, features vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton, guitarist Sparky Voyles, drummer Adam Jarvis, and guitarist/vocalist Mark "Lo Sneek" Kloeppel.

The band was born in the spring of 2001, by Vocalist/bassist Jason Netherton along with Vocalist/guitarist Mike Harrison as a studio project, with drums performed by ex-Dying Fetus drummer Kevin Talley. “Overthrow,” their debut CD was unleashed in September of 2001 on the band’s own Anarchos Records, where it quickly drew praise and interest from underground circles with its five song blast-thrash attack that met all expectations, and then some. The CD was subsequently released in 2002 in Japan on Howling Bull/Ritual Records, and in Europe on Fadeless Records. A limited edition vinyl put out on Goodlife Recordings soon followed. The band was then shifted to a full time project with the addition of Sparky Voyles on guitar. Subsequently, the band’s second release was a split EP with Pittsburgh’s Commit Suicide on Willowtip records. This cd featured two new songs plus a cover of Disrupt, and came out in the summer of 2002.

Following the recording of their second EP in March of 2002, Mike Harrison and Kevin Talley left the band to pursue other projects, and with the addition of Matt Byers on drums (ex-Severed Head), Misery Index embarked on their first US tour in the summer of 2002. Following this, 2003 saw the release of a split ep with Arizona's Structure of Lies, and the recording of Misery Index's debut album for Nuclear Blast, entitled "Retaliate". With the addition of Bruce Greig on second guitar, Misery Index will be touring extensively to promote the new album, which was released on August 26, 2003.

Subsequently, in 2004 the band has embarked on several US and European tours to support the "Retaliate", along with recording a video for "The Great Depression" and releasing the bands first DVD, which features a full live set from Greece, on their own Anarchos Records label imprint. With the addition of Adam Jarvis on drums in August of 2004, the band performed sets at the Wacken, Brutal Assault, and Party San festivals, which followed the recording of the "Dissent" EP in the summer of 2004. "Dissent" represents a new birth for Misery Index, further refining the sounds of 'Retaliate'. Misery Index toured throughout the winter of 04 and the spring of 05 extensively to support the release, including runs with Napalm Death, Suffocation, Behemoth, Neuraxis, Rotten Sound, Magrudergrind, and Devil Inside. Additionally, joining the band on second guitar and vocals was Mark Kloeppal, AKA Lo Sneek, who rounded out the sound of the band in fine form when he joined in February on 2005.

The Music

The music of Misery Index combines the most intense elements of metal with a distinct grind approach, added with a touch of hardcore and extreme punk attitude and passion, thus pushing the limits of metal with an insane mix of regressive thrashing rhythms, corrupting breakdowns and energetic ferocity. Misery Index sets no limits in their goal of making metal and grind flow together in boundless punishing assaults designed to modernize the classic death and grind metal of the early 90’s, drawing influence from Brutal Truth, Disrupt, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Terrorizer, His Hero is Gone, Bolt Thrower, Assuck and Entombed.
The imagery and lyrical concepts are also very critical to the band, and one can expect that in the true nature of the genre, Misery Index will catapult their ideology and anger to the forefront, and shove the sickness and hypocrisy of this planet right back in the face of all who so quietly accept the status quo…and have fun at the same time.

burning skies are from the southwest UK, they draw influences from many different genres of heavy music. They formed in Sept `02 but the lineup was not completed until Dec `02. Then in Jan `03 they entered State Of Art studios to cut their first disc over 6 days "a premonition of things to come". The live circuit then beckoned and Merv became obsessed with chipetts and sausages.

The band set out playing gigs in their home town and surrounding areas. After only a few live shows lifeforce records received a copy of "a premonition of things to come" and signed the band up. The new album, "Murder By Means Of Existence", out now on Lifeforce Records.

“...one of the heaviest, most uncompromising and totally brutal discs ever recorded by an American heavy metal band.” - Hit Parader

On July 4th, 1997, Paul Ryan and Jeremy Turner, acquaintances through mutual friends, had a conversation that would change their lives. Shortly thereafter, the two guitarists/vocalists got together and started jamming with the intent to create a band embodying blistering speed, total brutality, technical proficiency, and the utmost in quality musicianship. In October, 1997, they convinced long-time friend Clint Appelhanz to put down his guitar, pick up a bass and join them. Coincidentally, Paul was also good friends with vocalist Mark Manning, who possessed an unbelievably monstrous voice of unmatched ferocity. After hearing the damage the existing members had rendered, Mark aligned himself with the nascent group. In January, 1998, the quartet found drummer George Fluke, who enabled the artists to push the boundaries of their music even further. Finally, after deciding on a moniker that best represented their vision, the unearthly entity known as ORIGIN was created.

Four months after formation, ORIGIN landed a high-profile gig opening for SUFFOCATION, and unleashed on the unsuspecting crowd a torrent of unbelievably technical, pulverizing death metal. The band then entered the
studio and recorded a four-song, self-financed and self-distributed demo entitled "A Coming Into Existence," which received rave reviews. In October, 1998, Origin secured an opening slot on the "Death Across America” Tour which included NILE, CRYPTOPSY, OPPRESSOR and GORGUTS.

In February, 1999, drummer John Longstreth (ex-ANGEL CORPSE) joined ORIGIN, replacing George Fluke, furthering the thunderous ORIGIN assault. John also brought with him bassist Doug Williams, previously of CEPHALIC CARNAGE, who would also join ORIGIN, replacing Clint Appelhanz. The revamped lineup immediately began writing new material and injecting more life and vigor into the old material, while playing many shows in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Arkansas. After obtaining the "A Coming Into Existence" demo, Relapse Records quickly welcomed ORIGIN into its family.

Referencing everything from ATHIEST to SUFFOCATION, ORIGIN can only be described as a relentless musical war. Exploding forth with the intensity of a second Big Bang, ORIGIN launch cranium-collapsing projectiles of extremely fierce deathgrind, merging technicality with utter brutality. A devastating live set at the 1999 November To Dismember hinted at the contents of ORIGIN’s self-titled debut. Their debut delivered a punishing concussion, fusing merciless staccato guitar riffing with a homicidal vocal triumvirate and a rapid-fire percussive attack that shatters the space-time continuum. Menacing tracks such as "Lethal Manipulation (The Bonecrusher Chronicles)," "Vomit You Out," "Mental Torment" and "Inner Reflections" were but a few examples of ORIGIN's extremity. ORIGIN performed at all the major 2000 U.S. festivals including the Milwaukee Metalfest, Metal Meltdown, November To Dismember and the Midwest Metalfest, allowing many newcomers to witness the phenomenon. The buzz on the band quickly grew as word of their uncompromising live performances spread rapidly.

ORIGIN was invited to take part in the high profile Death Across America 2000 Tour - joining forces with Poland’s VADER and labelmates CEPHALIC CARNAGE and DYING FETUS - further annhiliating the metal masses. Soon after, ORIGIN embarked on yet another tour, this time alongside mathcore titans CANDIRIA, Canada’s CRYPTOPSY and hardcore upstarts POISON THE WELL.

Merciless, enormous and all-encompassing, ORIGIN delivered a sonic barrage of inhuman proportions with their next album, the mind-eroding "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas." Faster, darker and more complex than anything the death genre has issued to date, "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas" showcased ORIGIN's otherworldly musicianship while delivering heinous amounts of the band's unique "aggro-tech" extremity.

Immediately following the release of "Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas," ORIGIN hit the road as part of the largest metal tour of the summer; with NILE, ARCH ENEMY and HATE ETERNAL.

In 2005, ORIGIN returned with an enhanced lineup featuring drummer James King and the return of guitarist Clint Appelhanz to the devastating lineup of super-tech musicians. The band unveiled the absolutely mind-confounding album "Echoes of Decimation", which immediately stunned the metal community and catapulted ORIGIN back amongst extreme music's elite acts. With Echoes of Decimation, ORIGIN furthers their decimating combination of inexplicable speed, inhuman musicianship and unwavering brutality.

Numerous U.S. tours immediately followed including headlining featured performances at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and Ohio Deathfest. The band then joined forces for a summer North American tour with MALEVOLENT CREATION, blowing the doors off of every venue along the tour trail night in and night out. The tour is expected to run through August, 2005 with more touring to follow.

With the singular intent of inflicting an otherworldly musical battering, ORIGIN stop at nothing to overpower, achieving extreme cosmic destruction.
